Assessment and Promotion Policy

The curriculum has been tailored to focus attention on academic excellence & overall development of human personality as per the requirement of CBSE. The medium of instructions is English. Hindi and Sanskrit will not be neglected any point and due importance will be given to them.

For Classes Play-Group to II

Continuous evaluation is done to monitor the Child's level of development throughout the year. The performance is coveyed to the parents through the 'Grade System' during 'Open Houses' to eliminate competition among the peer group.

There is no formal examination from Classes PG to II. However, evaluation of the child’s progress will be done on the basis of day to day performance in various ways:

  • Written assessments via worksheets
  • Oral assessments (Reading Skills, Speaking Skills)
  • Activity (Gross and Fine Motor Skills)
  • Mental Mathematics
  • Listening skills (Dictation)
  • Evaluation test (Grammar, Concept
  • Joyful Learning (Rhyme, Colour, Skit etc.)

 

Classes III – V

The academic year is divided into two terms.

  • Two Unit Test cycles will be conducted at regular intervals throughout the year.
  • The school will conduct two examinations term wise in all subjects.
  • Evaluation of the child’s progress will be also done on the basis of day to day performance in various ways:
  • Written assessments via worksheets
  • Oral assessments (reading skills, speaking skills)
  • Activity (lab activities) , Map work
  • Mental Mathematics
  • Listening skills (dictation)

No retest will be conducted in case of absenteeism in Unit Tests. Only if the child is representing school or is suffering from severe ailments where he/she is indisposed to appear in test, the parents are  to submit medical certificate the same day and take permission from the Principal , only then the paper will conducted.

 

Classes VI – VIII

  • Two Periodic Test cycles will be conducted at regular intervals throughout the year. Their weightage is 10% in each term.
  • The school will conduct two examinations of 80 marks term wise each in all subjects.
  • A 5% weightage is allotted to subject enrichment activities like Lab work, Map work etc. and another 5% for timely completion and submission of notebooks and assignments in each term.

No retest will be conducted in case of absenteeism in Unit Tests. Only if the child is representing school or is suffering from severe ailments where he/she is indisposed to appear in test, the parents are  to submit medical certificate the same day and take permission from the Principal , only then the paper will conducted.

 

Class IX

According to CBSE, the school conducts two examinations of 80 marks term wise each in all subjects. It is compulsory for every student to pass in all examinations, each subject covering 100% syllabus in Annual examination.

 

  • A 20% weightage in each subject is earmarked for internal assessment by the school. Three Periodic Test cycles are conducted at regular intervals throughout the year. Their weightage is 5%.

 

  • Another 5% weightage is allotted to subject enrichment activities like Lab work, ASL, Map work etc., 5% for timely completion of all tasks & portfolio and 5% for Multiple Assessment like Oral test, Quiz, creativity etc.

 No retest will be conducted in case of absenteeism in Periodic Tests. Only if the child is representing the school or is suffering from severe ailments where the child is indisposed to appear in test, the parents are to submit medical certificate the same day and take permission from the Principal, only then the paper will be conducted with due permission from the Principal.

 

Class X

  • The school will conduct Pre-Board Examinations of 80 marks in all subjects. It is compulsory for every student to pass in all examinations.

 

  • In the months of March - April, each student will appear for the Board examination carrying 80% weightage in each subject covering 100% syllabus.

 

  • A 20% weightage in each subject is earmarked for internal assessment by the school. Three Periodic Test cycles are conducted at regular intervals throughout the year. Their weightage is 5%.

 

  • Another 5% weightage is allotted to subject enrichment activities like Lab work, ASL, Map work etc., 5% for timely completion of all tasks & portfolio and 5% for Multiple Assessment like Oral test, Quiz, creativity etc.

 

  Class XI

 

 The Academic session is divided into two terms:

 

  • July-September and October-March However provisional classes are conducted after the completion of board examination.

 

  • A students needs to procure at least 40% in each subject to obtain promotion to Class XII. A student failing in one subject will be granted one chance to appear for the retest. His/her promotion to Class XII will be subjected to clearing the retest. 75% attendance is mandatory to appear for the final exam in Class XI.

 

Class XII

  • Public Examination is held by CBSE for this class in the month of March – April and the results are declared as per C.B.S.E. EXAMINATION By-Laws. To give enough practice for the Board Examination, Unit Tests and various examinations are conducted by the school according to the scheme of examination.

 

  • Promotion would be subjected to the rules laid down by CBSE. To appear in Pre-Board Exam is mandatory for all students.
